Lasting Impression is a bench that longs for your companionship and misses you when your gone. If left all alone for enough time the bench will fade away inconspicuously into the urban landscape waiting for someone to come by and relax on its rocking chairs.
Once a pedestrian begins to rock, each active profile transforms the rocking motion into electric energy using a hub dynamo located on the back of each rocker. The energy created is stored in a capacitor and used to per the OLED strips in each chair profile. OLEDs to display the color associated with the amount of energy in the capacitor. The effect is the longer someone rocks, the more energy is stored, and when the pedestrian leaves, whatever energy is stored will continue to power the OLEDs, which will slowly change color and fade until the bench is alone again.
