Discursive Form worked in collaboration with the interior designer Kim Chi Ho and media artist Noah Shibley to create an interactive lighting environment for Club Mute in the District complex.
Mute is an imersive environment made up of a striking interior, 25 DMX universes, tens of thousands of leds, and over 4000 controllable lights. All of this reacting in real-time to music from the DJ. Mute has one of the most sophisticated lighting systems in Korea, if not Asia. Its is a place where you can literally feel and see the music. DVFM designed and implemented a custom control system that enabled the club to be centrally controlled from one workstation. Content was created that was specific to the clubs geometry. DVFM also made it possible to be controlled remotely from a phone, so the operator could control it from the dance floor.
